How does OpenIO licensing work?

OpenIO SDS is distributed under an LGPL/AGPL open source license. The source code is available on GitHub and the binaries are available for free download. OpenIO charges a yearly subscription for support and additional features, based on usable capacity of the platform.

How can I test the product?

OpenIO SDS is available as a Docker container for functional testing and development. It is also freely available for download and can be installed on Virtual Machines or on physical x86 and ARM servers. Documentation and how-to guides are available on docs.openio.io. You can use our Slack channel to connect with other end users and OpenIO engineers. Contact us if you need support to do a PoC in an enterprise environment.
