Customer Success Story: ICM
Medical imaging. A warm storage pool for research purposes.
Thanks to 2CRSI’s hardware expertise and the software-defined object storage technology developed by OpenIO, the Brain & Spine Insititute has complemented its on-prem storage environment with a warm storage pool, in order to optimize the use of patient data for research purposes.
Equipped with a fast storage system based on Lustre, efficient but not very large due to its cost per GB, the ICM archived data from brain imaging on magnetic tapes. An archiving system that does not allow data sets to be quickly retrieved for analysis, for example when a new scientific article is published. In addition, the performance of the OpenIO cluster (9 PB to date) makes it possible to consider the use of data sets by machine learning and AI algorithms.
